The Seax, or Sax, is a weapon that was carried by most of the peoples of northern Europe. Carried and used by the Anglo-Saxons, Vikings and German tribes, its first use probably dates from before the fall of Rome and continued until the early Middle Ages. The pattern of the Seax varied greatly from the small blade knife of 7 and 10 cm in length to the actual swords from 68 to 71 cm but always from a single edge. The original version of this great knife was used both as field work, as cutting work, on board the ship and or to fight if the sword or ax was not available.

This replica made of carbon steel, has a wooden knob and metal guard. The wooden handle is decorated with brass studs for a very safe and comfortable grip. The blade is engraved on both sides, the base is flat, and can be sharpened. The remains of this Seax can be seen in the British Museum.

It comes equipped with riveted and stitched leather case as the originals and has two openings for the strap.
