The hunter from Alpotreque has gone down in the history of hunting in our country. He was a prolific writer who left us five books chronicling his hunts, especially in the Sierra de San Pedro.

In this book, we will discover the daily life of Don Antonio Covarsí in his town, his involvement in the society of that era. We will delve into his home and his legendary armory, exploring his weapons, his library, and his personal collections in detail.

We will return to the mountains with him, once again smelling the rockrose and gunpowder, on many of his hunting expeditions not recounted in his books. We will learn more about the dogs that made up his pack and those of some of his companions, as well as the estates he hunted throughout his life in Extremadura and beyond, and his hunting partners.

A comprehensive and exhaustive bibliographical and historical work of the period, so complete that it will be of interest to lovers of Badajoz history, archaeology, art, and above all, hunting during that era.

Covarsí left a literary legacy about hunting that allows us to understand how a man lived who dedicated his life to hunting and who sacrificed everything to go out into the field. His son-in-law, Enrique Segura Otaño, and his son, Ricardo, wrote about him, and now, after many years of research and opening the treasure chest of memories, his great-grandson, Alberto Covarsí, does so.
