Quercur Strop Razor 210x70 mm. Natural

Sharpening or softening strop razor tool for knives, razors and other cutting tools. It has a double-sided leather and a 2.4 cm thick beech wood base. 2mm thick Cordovan tanned horse leather, ironed and polished. One side has leather from the visible flesh side to apply polishing paste and the opposite side has leather with a soft and uniform grain to achieve a good sharpening. Horse leather has proven to be one of the best materials available for sharpening the edges of cutting tools, due to its great resistance to wear and a very homogeneous and soft grain.

Instructions for use:

The roughest part (flesh) can be impregnated with the paste to make it more abrasive. To do this, prepare the chromium oxide block as follows:

Mix the paste block in a closed jar with equal parts universal solvent (Toluene), let it rest for 48 hours and once dissolved, spread it over the surface of the meat as a pigment. To settle an edge once sharpened, it is necessary to gently pass the edge and maintain the inclination of the same against the rough part as many times as necessary until you see that the edge is polished. Once this is achieved, clean the edge and repeat the operation on the smoothest and softest part (grain) to finish settling. The smoothest and softest part (grain) can be rubbed with oil (Ballistol, olive, vegetable) to nourish it and both surfaces after continued use can be polished with fine sandpaper to clean them. It is recommended not to press when settling the edge and always try to keep the angle of inclination equal to that of sharpening.
