The Aitor brand of knives and folding knives was founded in 1939 by the Izaguirre family in the town of Ermua in the Basque country (Spain) very close to the famous armory town of Éibar. In its early days, the brand spent years selling its products under the name of Iher (Izaguirre Hermanos), which over the years changed to the name Aitor. Since its inception they have been able to offer very good quality knives and folding knives, exporting their products to practically every country in the world. They have supplied cutlery to armies around the world and their great president Don Pedro Mari Izaguirre Hacha was the person who took the brand to its greatest exponent. Unfortunately, Pedro Mari passed away and Aitor suffered continuous sales declines and continuous changes in the companies that managed it until its closure in 2002. Later, in 2007, they re-opened their doors very close to their old location and began to retake a large amount of its variety of previous models and to return to take contracts with armies of the world until today. Their Jungle King, Black Bear (Mount Knife), Commando, Bucanero, Bowie, Botero, Bolomachete, Survival and razor models such as Commando, Gran Capitán, Rehala, Brama, are well known by users, professionals and collectors. Cocker, Poodle, Police, Rancher, Capricho, Emperor and many more.
