Replica pistol, made of metal with plastic grips, featuring a simulated loading and firing mechanism and a removable magazine.
The Parabellum pistol, or Model 1908 (P08), popularly known as the Luger, is a recoil-operated, semi-automatic pistol that survived the restrictions of the Treaty of Versailles. It uses an internal slide, operated by a hinged arm, unlike the external slide common in almost all other semi-automatic pistols.
It was designed by Georg Luger in 1898 and produced by the German arms manufacturer Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) starting in 1900. During its production run, the Luger P08 passed through the hands of several manufacturers, who produced more than a million units of this legendary pistol that marked a turning point in the history of handguns.
Although the first models were manufactured in 7.65x21 Parabellum caliber, the 1908 model is famous for being the pistol for which the 9x19 Parabellum cartridge was developed. The name Parabellum comes from the old Latin saying "Su vis pacem, para bellum" ("If you want peace, prepare for war").
The Parabellum Luger pistol became very popular thanks to its use by Germany during the First and Second World Wars and was a highly coveted pistol among soldiers throughout the 20th century.
