The birth of Benchmade dates back to 1979 when Les de Asis founded it under the name Bali-Song Inc. Currently, Benchmade is located in Clackamas, Oregon, known as the epicenter of cutlery manufacturing and is known to be one of the highest quality American manufacturers. With the mission of creating something better, something exceptional, the name of Benchmade reflects the union of what is manufactured in series and what characterizes them custom since, despite the fact that precision parts were made in series, the assembly of the finished products was performed manually.
