The tool you see in front of you is a reproduction of a primitive flint-handled knife, corresponding to those probably used by Neolithic man. The blade is made of a sheet of white flint, hand-carved using the pressure-cut technique, using a presser that is usually made of deer antler. It is firmly attached to the handle thanks to a hole made in it and is finally secured using resins such as gum arabic, plant fibres, tendons or dried animal guts. The handle can be made of horn, bone or wood from various trees or bushes. Click Play to view the Video.
