This unique replica is a copy of an original Civil War knife that appears on page 451 of the book of old knives “The Antique Bowie Knife Bowie” Probably a confederated knife, the owner had a Bowie D-Guard large and basic knife and the combination with a hoja del tipo bolo cuchillo, creando un arma corta y resistente, similar to a machete. The hoja has a light distal conicity to support the knife without sacrificing the resistance of the blade, but it is also a handle with great weight and power. The hoja has a redonded point and beveled lower edges. The shape of the cylindrical wood (a shape that is very common in the large knives of this era) is very dark brown. The original is removed from its funda or none other than that, but this reproduction is provided with a bonita black leather funda with a strap for the belt, a correa de sujeción and a cord.
