Harri Merimaa is one of the premier knife makers from Western Finland. He has very unique style and he is a third generation knife maker, (Kuure family) whose family is renowned for their commitment to inimitable Finnish quality and superior Bothnian Puukko design. There is a passion for excellence and quality that is obvious when you hold one of these high caliber Finnish knives. Merimaa's grandfather, L.V. Kuure was well known puukko maker and owned a puukko factory in 1945- 1956 in Kauhava where Harri's father, Esa also worked. L.V. Kuure was specially known for his "Woodman Puukko" which had a place for a pen and an "old fashion drawing instrument" for carpenters in the sheath. Harri Merimaa, like his grandfather, is not only an exceptional puukko maker, but also very skilled sheath maker!
