This original Battle Kukri was made before 1890. Other kukries were made much earlier, but the exact date is difficult to determine. Each kukri is handcrafted from steel that was cast, forged, molded and hammered by the Kamis (descendants of the God Vishwakarma) living in Nepal. While spears and the Kora sword (a broad, curved blade typical of the Gurkha tribes of Nepal) were being replaced by firearms, the kukri was the weapon of choice for close combat.

The BhojPure is popular with Nepalese because it brings good fortune and prosperity, but in the skilled hands of the Gurkha, it became a terrifying weapon. All of them have been carried by both the Nepalese Army and the British Army.

Comes complete with original sheath and 2 small kukri knives.
