Based on the American P-51 Mustang, this knife reflects the material, shape and color of the 1940s fighter plane and thus creates almost a replica of its historical model. Between 1940 and 1948, around 15,800 examples of this low-wing aircraft were produced in various versions, making it still one of the most widely built military aircraft in the world today. The heart of the Boker Plus P-51 Damast is its distinctive spearhead blade made of 80 layers of Damascus, which was forged by Chad Nichols in the U.S. and is composed of original parts from the historic fighter. Viewed from the side, the blade has a number of visual reminiscences of the historic fighter-bomber. The thumb hole, for example, is reminiscent of the cockpit's plexiglass canopy, which allowed the pilot an ideal panoramic view. Another highlight is the titanium grip, which reproduces the aircraft's studded light metal plates in great detail. The blue bolt on the blade shaft, which bears the U.S. Army Silver Star, and the anodized red bolts, based on the color scheme of the tail rudder, are striking. The titanium lock with stainless steel inlay promises extreme reliability and keeps the blade in place even on tough jobs.  Despite its clean lines, the handle fits comfortably in the hand thanks to ergonomic cutouts. The titanium clip is machined from a solid piece and allows it to be carried with the tip up (r), while the lanyard hole offers more attachment options. A must-have for all knife collectors and friends of historic aircraft.
