The Extrema Ratio X-Ant is the most extreme version of the Ant “Every Day Carry” model. The design of this knife demonstrates Extrema Ratio’s effort to surpass the usual production standards in the cutting tool sector, creating high-quality products. X-Ant is distinguished by the use of an extraordinarily rare material in the production of the blades, which places the company among the few institutions in Italy and in the world that can boast such expertise. For the production of the blades, Extrema Ratio has relied on the collaboration of a leading Italian company in the sector with extremely high production standards. The material used for the blade, sintered tungsten carbide, has the remarkable property of high hardness equivalent to 71 HRC. This property makes it highly sought after in mechanical workshops, including ours, where it finds application in the treatment of metals such as steel. The extraordinary hardness of this material is combined with a convenient compromise in terms of toughness, unlike ceramic, which is extremely brittle and therefore not suitable for such applications. The sintered tungsten carbide blade (71 HRC) guarantees a very high cutting capacity and absolute resistance to corrosion. The combination of these two features, together with a meticulous design, makes the X-Ant an exceptional EDC (Every Day Carry), suitable for daily use and a unique piece for collectors.

The innovative features of the X-Ant folding knife extend to the functional design: the blade rotates on ball bearings that facilitate a smooth and precise opening. Likewise, the blue-coloured titanium handle helps to improve the overall efficiency and strength of the instrument. X-Ant features the “Frame-Lock” blade locking mechanism. Extrema Ratio is the first company in the world to use this locking system on a folding knife with a tungsten carbide blade.

X-Ant represents a perfect balance between performance and aesthetics, making it an exceptional ally in the operational field and a valuable addition to any knife collection. Production is limited to 100 pieces, each packaged in a sturdy polypropylene technical case, equipped with a pressurisation valve and resistant to weather, dust and shock.
