The abundance of iron and charcoal in the area allowed for the development of an exceptional forging industry. While Ripoll's firearms gained international renown, local artisans perfected the Ripollès knife as an essential tool for shepherds, farmers, and muleteers.

We present this beautiful Ripollès knife made by the Catalan artisan Miquel Castillejo, a specialist in traditional Catalan cutlery. This knife is a unique, handcrafted piece, made using traditional methods but with high-quality materials such as the multi-layered "suminagashi" steel blade, which offers superior toughness and resistance compared to other steels, maintaining a long-lasting edge with exceptional edge retention. The knife features a traditional lever lock with an internal spring, which is decorated with a file, creating an elegant and distinguished piece. The handle has a nickel silver bolster and liners of the same material. The scales are made of carefully selected, stabilized curly birch wood, offering a traditional yet refined look.
