The new Opinel Mushroom Knife No. 08 in Black Walnut is ideal for collecting mushrooms and all types of fungi. This classic Opinel mushroom knife features a comfortable black walnut handle, accentuated by an orange Alcantara cord. It has an 8 cm curved stainless steel blade for easy harvesting, with a scraper on the back for cleaning mushrooms. The integrated natural bristle brush at the end of the handle allows for easy cleaning: the ideal tool for efficient and careful harvesting. The stainless steel used in Opinel knives is an optimized grade to ensure both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance. The blade has an excellent edge and high abrasion resistance, allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before needing to be resharpened. Stainless steel has the advantage of requiring no maintenance under normal use, unlike carbon steel. Black walnut, also known as American walnut, comes from French forests. It is a durable, high-end wood with a fine grain that ranges from light to dark brown, sometimes with darker streaks.
