A "legend" has returned, the 4-use Mercator pocket knife was made over 60 years ago by the Kaufmann und Söhne Company in Solingen. They have brought the classic razor back to life from faded yellowing drawings still preserved. It is designed to include 4 tools, just like the old days. A lockable knife blade, the awl for loosening knots and punching holes in leather and fabric, the can opener, and a corkscrew. More than 120 work processes are needed for its manufacture. Everything is hand made. The punch and can opener are forged in strap hammers, rough ground and finally fine ground. The corkscrew's helix core prevents "crumble" of the cork.
