The traditional Mercator model with a new ruthenium-coated look gives this classic Solingen knife a whole new look. Ruthenium is one of the precious metals and one of the rarest elements on our planet. Annual world production is estimated at around 20 tons (compared to 27,000 tons of silver). Its main deposits are in Russia, South Africa and the United States. It is associated with platinum, other platinum group metals, and nickel. It is mainly used in the electronics industry and, in recent years, increasingly in the coating of jewellery. Above all, its attractive glossy dark anthracite surface is appreciated here. Added to this is the uniformity of the coating, the consistency of the color and the high resistance to abrasion. All these properties combined with the simple elegance of the Mercator knife make every knife lover's heart beat faster.
