The HACK brand has a long tradition of knife making dating back to the 15th century. The HACK company, which dates back to the 15th century, is one of the last knife manufacturers in Austria to carry out the entire production process in-house. Today, the seventh generation, represented by Florian and Christine Scharnreithner, leads the company with a combination of tradition and innovation.
History and development
Initially, the company produced exclusively Trattenbacher pocket knives, but in the 1960s it expanded its range due to declining sales. Since the 1970s, it has been producing vegetable and kitchen knives, cutlery, hunting knives and staghorn knives, incorporating modern dishwasher-safe materials.
Quality and sustainability
In the 1960s, it built its facilities, including its own hydroelectric power station, which is still in operation, supplemented by a photovoltaic system. In 1992, they took a big step with a modern manufacturing facility equipped with CNC machines and wire EDM technology, gaining customers in the automotive industry. They have also been ISO certified since 2004. In 2015, Taschenfeitel was declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, consolidating our legacy in traditional cutlery.
