Sylvain Capievic had the idea of creating a knife thinking of his grandfather Auguste, who had settled down for his retirement in a village in the Auvergne, between Thiers and Clermont. The children of his town loved him very much and nicknamed him "Grandpa Auguste". During summer vacations with his grandfather, Sylvain often passed the window of an old cutlery shop on the high street, and one day Grandfather Auguste offered him one of those knives. The love and fascination for knives has never left Sylvain since, attached to this region from a very young age. However, it was not until 2020 that he dared to embark on the creation of his own knives, thanks to his passion and of course his experience and great encounters such as Sébastien, a plastics specialist based in Thiers, David, a 4th generation knife maker , and Nicolas, a sailor friend who gave him the idea to develop a product whose plastic would be made from recycled fishing nets. After many prototypes, many coffees and even more hours of work, questioning and reflection, the SKULT knife was finally ready. Therefore, it is not without some pride that this team dynamic gave birth to the first knife whose handle is made from recycled fishing nets; without forgetting its timeless design, its featherweight, its elastic bands for easy transport and of course its very sharp blade. The entire SKULT team hopes that you enjoy using your knife as much as they have creating it. The SKULT knife is not only tough, it's also an incredibly sharp blade.
They know that recycling can seem useless compared to the scale of global ecological problems, they contribute even on a small scale to the recycling of port waste. That is why they want to give an ecologically committed dimension to the product. They are proud to be able to offer products made with highly innovative materials and with a specific eco-responsible dimension. They face several problems to exploit this material, but they persevere against all odds. These problems have not all disappeared, especially in colors. That is why, at the moment, two of its models are made from recyclable plastics and are not yet made from recycled fishing nets.
