The art of cutlery emerged early in José da Cruz's life, as it wasn't until he was 13 that his interest and first job in this field exploded. In 2003, José da Cruz, 38, decided to work part-time and create his own brand, thus establishing Cutelaria José da Cruz, located in the village of Palaçolo, in northern Portugal. In 2010, he dedicated himself fully to his business. In 2015, his son, Daniel Macías, born out of the same love for the art of cutlery that his father instilled in him since he was a child, decided to become a full-time partner in Cutelaria José da Cruz, helping his father grow his business.
Over the years, new knowledge, new resources, and new means were acquired for the production of his knives and pocket knives. Currently, the brand is focused on increasing production and customer service, promoting and conquering new markets, both national and international. Cutelaria José da Cruz's greatest responsibility is to strive for a competitive and versatile future, capable of meeting the broadest needs, always with the main objective of enhancing the quality that distinguishes us. Its product catalog has gradually expanded to become known throughout much of Europe and the rest of the world. Its knives began as products made solely of carbon steel and have now expanded to include models with stainless steel blades.
Jose da Cruz offers knives in various woods, such as oak, walnut, boxwood, mutene, broom, combinations of ebony and boxwood, and even ironwood with deer antler. The locking system on its knives is very comfortable and effective; it features a double rotating bolster that makes them safe tools during use.
