How to use the Kai AP-0334 Sharpening Stone step by step?
Pre-soaking: Submerge the stone in water for 10–15 minutes until no more air bubbles rise.
Securing: Place the stone on its included non-slip base.
Step 1 - Sharpening (1000 Grit): Maintain a constant angle (between 10° and 15° for Japanese knives, 15° to 20° for Western knives) and slide the blade with gentle pressure along the 1000-grit surface until a light burr is created.
Step 2 - Polishing (4000 Grit): Turn the stone to the 4000 grit side and repeat the process to smooth the blade and achieve a mirror edge.
Cleaning: Rinse the knife and stone with clean water after use and allow the stone to air dry completely before storing it in the case.
