The Naniwa Traditional Stone series of whetstones is one of the oldest series produced by the Naniwa Abrasive company. These are classic Japanese waterstones that have earned a reputation for being inexpensive sharpening tools with excellent polishing performance. The wear-resistant bond and high content of the alumina crystalline fraction made them an excellent choice. Due to the affordable price, buying a set or individual models from this line is a smart move if you want to save money, with a slight decrease in performance.

This T-210 with 1000 grits is designed to help you remove rough marks and lower the grit to bring it to a cutting edge. The blade will be acceptable for cutting.

The long soaking required for traditional Naniwa stone is more of a technicality, as the multi-component bond here is not as dense and allows water to penetrate deeper than other Naniwa series. Therefore, it is possible not to wet the work surface as often during sharpening.
