The Naniwa Traditional Stone series of whetstones is one of the oldest series produced by the Naniwa Abrasive company. These are classic Japanese waterstones that have earned a reputation for being inexpensive sharpening tools with excellent polishing performance. The wear-resistant bond and high content of the alumina crystalline fraction made them an excellent choice. Due to the affordable price, buying a set or individual models from this line is a smart move if you want to save money, with a slight decrease in performance.

This T-102 are designed to help you start sharpening when you need to repair nicks and excessive wear and other major damage, or when the task is to change the angle of the cutting edge. Repair and rough grinding require aggressive steel abrasion and wear resistance.

The long soaking required for traditional Naniwa stone is more of a technicality, as the multi-component bond here is not as dense and allows water to penetrate deeper than other Naniwa series. Therefore, it is possible not to wet the work surface as often during sharpening.

When finishing and storing the stone, it is necessary to wash it thoroughly without the use of detergents and dry the water stones away from the sun, carrying out, if necessary, its alignment procedure with Dressing stone.
