The Extrema Ratio MK2.1 knife is a reinterpretation of a classic model, a tribute to a veteran, a restyling of one of the most widespread and widely used combat knives of World War II: the Mark 2. Extrema Ratio undertook this ambitious project with the aim of maintaining the distinctive characteristics of the original, making only functional modifications aimed at increasing performance. Cobalt stainless steel is used for the blade, AISI 303 and AISI 304 for the rest of the components. For the handle, glass-filled nylon has replaced the rolled leather. The ergonomics of the original have been maintained, but all the structural parts have been oversized to transform it into a massive, high-performance multifunction knife. At a conceptual level, the most significant changes are aimed at addressing the "weak points" of the original model: the ability to disassemble in the field without tools, the modified straight Bowie-shaped tip (easier to sharpen), and the grooves in the "barrel" handle, which help perceive the direction of the blade even in the dark and geometrically increase the grip during torsional movements (screwdriver effect). Other minor changes include the holes for the safety strap and the holes in the guard. The traditional blood drain has been replaced by the typical Extrema Ratio "side groove" for aesthetic and weight-saving reasons. Equipped with a standard sheath with automatic knife attachment, flap, and thigh strap for side attachment.
