Otter-Messer is a German manufacturer that has been producing high-quality handmade knives exclusively in Germany since 1840. They stand for "Made in Germany" quality. In recent years, the demand for high-quality knives and other craft products has once again increased considerably. In the manufacture of their knives special attention is paid to quality. The blades are traditionally made of carbon steel, but are also available in high quality stainless steel and are particularly durable.

Although the production of Otter knives would also be possible outside of Germany due to current globalization, but they make the conscious decision to remain in Solingen and manufacture in a traditional way.
