Joseph Gerber founded the Gerber Legendary Blades in Portland, Oregon in 1939. At first, the company specialized in kitchen knives, although soon, in 1958, his son Pete Gerber switched to sports knives, with such success that there was They increase the range with hunting knives and fishing knives and pocket knives.
