Boker Plus stone for grinding and flattening sharpening stones.
Measurements: 180 x 60 x 25 mm.
Weight: 490 grams.
A flattening stone for flattening/straightening sharpening stones with cross-grooves to absorb abrasion. Both natural and synthetic sharpening stones become hollow on the work surface over time during sharpening, resulting in an inward curvature. The grinding stone is used to produce or maintain a flat/straight surface. As a second application of the product, the grinding stone can also be used to rub grinding sludge from an existing abrasive stone. When grinding with abrasive mud, the so-called "rolling grain" is used. With abrasive mud, sharpening can be produced faster and finer with the same grit as with the bare grinding stone surface. For which sharpening stones is the product suitable? Suitable for Japanese waterstones of any grain, as well as soft-agglomerated natural stones (eg Belgian chunks/coticules). Not suitable for Arkansas stones, artificial ceramic stones and diamond abrasive plates. Soak the grinding stone and alignment stone with plenty of water. Rub the sharpening stone and honing stone against each other in circular motions until the desired result is achieved. Keep both stones moist throughout the process. Available from April 2023.
